Floppy Lizard didn’t start as a brand. It started on a sunny Sunday, heading down to the water with the family. Out of nowhere, my daughter looked at me with that brutal kid honesty and said, “Mum, I don’t like it when you’re drunk.”

I laughed and asked, “Why, babe?”

She paused, thought about it, and delivered the line that changed everything:

“um, because you kind of turn into a lizard… that’s floppy.”

We absolutely lost it. I looked back at her and said, “Did you just call me a floppy lizard?”

From then on, “Floppy Lizard” became the perfect description for all those ridiculous, lovable, slightly chaotic moments in life. Like the time I got eaten by a sofa couch. Like genuinely stuck inside it, yelling for Mitch to save me while stubbornly insisting I didn’t need help. Pure floppy energy.

Over time, Floppy Lizard became my unofficial alter ego. The version of me that's carefree, hilarious, slightly feral and fully myself shows up for big laughs, big vibes, and the best stories. Eventually, I had the original Floppy Lizard tattooed on me, thanks to a friend who knows me well enough to capture my personality in a sketch. That little lizard became the heart of something bigger.

Now, the Floppy Lizard is a brand built on the same thing that created it: sitting around the shed table, surrounded by family and mates, laughing too hard, talking too much, and sharing a few (okay… sometimes too many) cold beverages.

That’s where the best ideas happen! In the mess, the fun, and the real moments.

Now, Floppy Lizard is more than a joke between family.

Every design is created with love, humour, and a whole lot of heart. Inspired by the outdoors, by real life, and by the people who make it all worth it.
